It happens to the very best of us, we all want to go out and shoot but we struggle with a lack of ideas or solutions to the ideas we have.
Here are some ideas to get your juices flowing and get you back out there shooting.
1: Take a break…
Genuinely, take some time to chill out and switch off, it will open your eyes to how many opportunities and simple idea’s there are out there for you to make the most of.
2: Take a walk through town…
I find it incredibly inspiring to wander through the streets and see what things inspire me, it takes a lot of patience because not every street has something on it, but when you do find a good spot to shoot at or even notice how the light falls on an area how many ideas you can come up with.
3: Go shopping…
I always see so many cool adverts and ideas for something new to work on whilst shopping in clothing stores. I often see the simplicity of the ideas they have used and deconstruct that shot to allow me to understand how to go and shoot it. Once you then get out and shoot that shot, you can always tweak it to make it your own unique style.
4: Youtube/ Instagram.
We all have it at our fingertips, go search for lighting setups, for portraits, for brands, for locations…
You’ll be amazed at how much you can find out to make your work improve and get your ideas flowing and getting you out with your camera again.
These are all super simple ideas and I guarantee you’ll get better results from doing any one of these things.
Let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions for ways you get yourself away from procrastinating over what you could be doing!
